Cindy Lawson returns with “The Reckoning”

“Karma’s a bitch and so am I”–The Reckoning Minneapolis punk rock veteran, Cindy Lawson, roars back onto the scene with “The Reckoning.” The track is a musical takedown of every fake, manipulating asshole out there who thinks they got away with murder, and Lawson is here to remind them that karma never sleeps. A staple of the local punk scene, Lawson has shared spaces with the likes of The Replacements and Soul Asylum. After a deep cut from the music industry, Lawson vanished for years before having the courage to emerge on stage again. “Nothing to Lose” by Goldstate is Pop-Punk Gold

by Jillian Jaramillo When “Nothing To Lose” by Goldstate landed in my inbox, I was thrilled. I’ve been longing for a new pop-punk track to blast in my car (I am a child of the 90s, after all), and Goldstate’s new single filled my near-empty Fall Out Boy cup. If the energy of pop-punk and the heart and soul of the early 2000s met at Warped Tour, the result would be “Nothing to Lose.” Comprised of members Ben Pritchard (vocals), James (guitar), Jez (guitar), and Amy (drums), Goldstate dropped  “Nothing to Lose” in June, via Punkerton Records, making it their third … Continue reading “Nothing to Lose” by Goldstate is Pop-Punk Gold

Their previous EP, Escape, was released in 2016. In 2024, the pair emerged from their sleepy hiatus and delivered Reach. … Continue reading Paperwhite Looks Back with Latest EP, “Reach”

Francesca Fuentes Enters the Chat with “Can’t Hide”

by A. Pollinger “If you take note of any pop singer this year, let it be Francesca Fuentes.” The melodies of Francesca Fuentes, an enchanting singer hailing from New Jersey, are not unfamiliar in the indie-pop realm. While a familiarity rings through her mesmerizing tracks, there is something wholly unique that spikes the pink drink gin-fizz of her new EP, Can’t Hide. I was captivated by the visual appeal of Fuentes’ music video, “I Just Wanna Be Your Lover Again,” a love-lorn journey through the decades and a musical homage to Madonna, Mariah Carey, and Priscilla Presley. Pop is something that BTN!M has covered plenty since it launched in … Continue reading Francesca Fuentes Enters the Chat with “Can’t Hide”
